About Blue Mountains Family Day Care

Blue Mountains Family Day Care has been providing home-based childcare for Blue Mountains families for over 35 years. The service prides itself on delivering childcare that is relationship focused, giving children a warm and nurturing environment to grow and develop their learning and social skills. Blue Mountains Family Day Care is a service that exceeds National quality standards for childcare.

Family Day Care offers small group settings, where children are cared for by qualified educators in a home environment. Research has shown that children who build strong relationships with adults in early childhood can have extremely positive learning outcomes later in life.

The service has over 50 educators covering areas from Kingswood all the way to Oberon. Our educators are all qualified and assessed to meet the National requirements for Family Day Care. Our Coordination Unit based in Lawson facilitates the bookings for families, manages Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate entitlements as well as educator payments, working closely with educators to monitor their services and provide support to aid the education and social development of the children in care.

Our educators offer a huge range of activities to guide children with their learning from new born age to school age. Many of our educators are qualified in special types of teaching such as Montessori and Steiner. We have a number of educators in our service undergoing Marte Meo training which is a program that teaches communication techniques that foster the social and emotional wellbeing of children.

A number of our educators participate in weekly play sessions, allowing the children to enjoy fun activities and to mix with other educators and children from the service.

There are many types of care available depending on the family’s circumstances. To find out more about the types of care we provide please click here.
